On your Mac

Profiles, rules, app selections and display settings are stored locally. Display automation runs locally. Lumarule does not upload those settings and does not collect analytics, screen contents, window titles or typed text. App rules use focused-window geometry to identify the display; window contents are not read.

The 14-day trial start date, a random installation identifier and your activation are stored in your Mac’s Keychain. They are separate from your profile settings. Simulation uses temporary in-memory licence data and does not contact the licence service.

Purchases and licensing

Paddle processes payments as our merchant of record. Paddle collects the billing and payment information needed for the purchase, tax calculation, fraud prevention and receipts. See Paddle’s privacy notice. We do not receive your full payment card details.

Our licence service stores the Paddle transaction and invoice references, a hash of your licence key, product and refund status, and activation records. Activation sends a random installation identifier and the label “My Mac”; it does not send your hardware serial number, app usage or display configuration. An activated app checks its licence when online, at most once per day during a continuous session and again after launch. It can use its signed activation offline for up to 180 days.

The service uses the activation records to enforce one Mac per licence, support transfers, and process refunds and disputes. Network providers necessarily receive an IP address when handling a connection. Request limits use a keyed hash of the address that expires within two minutes; request bodies and licence keys are not written to application logs.

Website storage and providers

The checkout saves your licence key in your browser’s local storage so that you can retrieve it after payment. Clearing site data removes that local copy. Download and keep your licence file. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Paddle may use storage needed for its checkout and fraud prevention.

The website and licensing service are hosted on Hostup. Cloudflare provides domain and DNS services and routes incoming support email to our Gmail inbox, where Google processes it. Website typography is requested from Google Fonts. Paddle’s checkout resources are loaded only when you start checkout.

Retention and your choices

We retain purchase and licence records for the life of the licence and as required for accounting, refunds, fraud prevention and legal obligations. Activation records are removed when a Mac is deactivated. Support correspondence is retained as needed to resolve requests and meet applicable obligations. Ask us about access, correction or deletion of your personal data. Some purchase records may need to be retained by us or Paddle for legal reasons.

You can remove local profiles by removing the app’s settings, and deactivate a Mac in Settings or on the licence page. Licence checks never upload or delete your profiles.
